Glenville has another Boston native on the team Jose Vasquez. Jose returns for the Pioneers as a senior after playing in all 29 games and starting 9 of those as Jr. he also shot 50% from the floor. Vasquez is a 6'5 swingman who can do a little of everything. He'll put a smaller defender on his hip and take hip to the basket with ease, but if he is matched up with a big he will use quickness and handles to break him down. Jose can shoot the 3 if he has to. His biggest attribute is his passion and energy. One thing people can never question about this kid is effort. He will put his body at risk at any time; for example diving for loose balls jumping over bigs for a rebound or even getting into a scuffle with an opponent. It doesnt matter what ever it takes to get the job done he'll do it.
As a senior at Snowden International High School he averaged double- double, 20pts and 10 rebounds. Snowden squad led 6’5 senior guard -forward Jose Vasquez deserve and will be given all the credit in the world by this writer for not only battling valiantly, but the courageous run they made in the state tournament overall. They performed above and beyond most folks expectations. Also Jose was pick Boston City League All star for 3years in a row.
Like most basketball players Joey has an extreme amount of confidence in his game, in which he should. He has put in a lot of work over the summer to improve his game, to help the team win a ring as well as to reach his own personal goals.
The Drew League offers a court where everything is left behind except the art of skill. From professional players such as Nike Young, Baron Davis, Paul Pierce, Gabe Pruitt, Javale McGhee,Matt Barnes, Kobe Bryant , Trevor Ariza, Dijon Thompson, Lebron James, Steve Blake etc. This is where Jose Vasquez found his home as well playing 2011/12 , 2012/13. He has been chosen by NBA players such as Klay Thompson, Austin Daye, Mychel Thompson and LaMarcus Aldridge to play with them. Jose will have privilege to play in the drew league again this summer and showcase his game.
Joey is not only a talented basketball player but also a gifted rapper. He often often freestyles for his teammates in his spare time. Check out his music video on the right.

A. My favorite move is sweet. You have to set your man up by going between the legs with the dribble to behind the back then pull up for the jumper. Rap is my favorite type of music and jadakiss is one of my favorite rappers. Dont really have a favorite book. Prison Break is my favorite show Scofield is a genius.

A. A mix of both
