Head Coach Stephen Dye
Coach Dye is one of the youngest coaches at the NCAA Division II level. The job of being an NCAA head basketball coach is not as glamourus as it may look from the outside. There is so much pressure on a head coach. Just take a minute and think about... A coach's job secruity rest in the hands of 18-22 year old young men. A person must really love the game of basketball and have an outstanding amount of patience to be a college basketball coach. His job is strenuous and is much more than just coaching basketball and recruiting. With all that being said Stephen Dye has been doing an exceptional job at Glenville State College. Leading the Pioneers to best conference finish in history along with the first NCAA Tournament Appearance in school history !
Dye has a strong set of morals. He regularly attends Pastor Kenny Fischer's First Baptist Church. He is big on family and is a family man himself. He and his wife Tia recently had a son Jakobi Dye. With being a strong believer in family Dye preaches to his team that they must become a family in order to win and reach their goals.
Prior to coaching Dye played basketball at former WVIAC school Alderson Brodduas where he was a stud! Dye led his team to 3 conference championships and 4 NCAA Tournament appearances. He also was one of the best shooters in college basketball. He set the record for most career 3's with 444!
